Pride in the Name of Love

The Spamwise Chronicles first began life as an LGBT blog and with this post, I return to my roots. No food-related content; that can wait for another day. Instead I’ve captured a little bit of the Pride march this afternoon. Today marks the 40th anniversary of Stonewall — a very special day indeed.

Father Tony + C, of Perge Modo fame. 25 years and still together. They’re awesome.

Where it all began.

As pix from today get uploaded, I’ll update this post with links to other blogs that weigh in today’s festivities. Stay tuned.

Update:
Here is a slideshow courtesy of Father Tony. JMG has another slideshow here. CSCFon has a gathering of pix here. Little David has a Flickr set here. Wayne linked a slideshow in the comments section or you can click here to view them.

  1. Great pictures!

  2. Yesterday rocked. Especially once the parade got to the Village. It seemed like the very air we were breathing had turned gay.

  3. You know, someday, NY Pride should be on my list of things to definitely be a part of. What a great weekend.

  4. Great pics! Thanks for sharing.

It was great getting to meet and march with you yesterday. I had a blast. Below is a link to my photo slide show from yesterday:

  6. My lower back was screaming bloody murder by the time we got down to the Village. I was eternally grateful for the chance to sit down once we got a bite to eat.

I think for one day that all seemed right with the world.

If only every day could be like yesterday. Wear your Pride on your sleeve and in your heart.

We should do this again next year (but this time I’ll be sure to wear more comfortable sneakers).

BEAUTIFUL pictures……….and sexy and human and warm too. LOVELY, I’m so glad you postetd them! WE MISS New York when I see this. Portland O’s such a little town out here, we feel isolated sometimes, even though it’s a very libearal place.

  9. Hey Stash. It was great meeting you on Sunday in the parade. My pics are available at http://www.flickr.com/photos/timcorrimal.

  10. Hi Mark. Have a lovely time in Spain. I look forward to seeing all the pix (especially the food, hint hint. :) ) Say hi to Rodger for me.

Thanks for stopping by Tim. It was great meeting you too.
